Job summary

TotalMed RN in Lenexa, Kansas is seeking a travel nurse RN for Medical Surgical / Telemetry in a 12-week assignment. The role requires 12-hour night shifts and travel status. You will provide bedside care, administer medications, and support patient education and discharge planning.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience and holding BLS and NIH certifications. The position offers weekly pay and a range of benefits through TotalMed RN.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS and NIH certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
