TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Elgin, Illinois. The position is a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week, consisting of 12-hour night shifts. Immediate need, travel status, and tax-free stipends are possible.

RNs should have 1–2 years of acute care experience and BLS certification. The role involves patient assessments, ongoing monitoring, education for patients and families, discharge planning, and collaboration with physicians to deliver

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside Med/Surg care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Administer, document, and report prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Perform procedures such as dressing changes, catheter insertions, and starting IVs.
• Assist physician during examinations and treatments and educate patients and families.
