Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Mammography Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and ARRT certification for a day-shift assignment in Eureka, CA. Inpatient and outpatient imaging hands-on work with 3-D mammography and biopsies, using Hologic 3D systems.

The position requires BLS, CA license if applicable, travel experience, and safety compliance. Shifts run 8:00 AM–5:30 PM; Providence history confirmation and supervisory references are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in mammography required.
• ARRT certification required; BLS certification required.
• CA license required if applicable; prior travel experience preferred.
• Experience with digital QA procedures preferred; knowledge of PPE and radiation safety.
• Ability to teach breast self-exams is a plus; supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient and outpatient mammography setting.
• Day shift, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Perform 3-D mammography, diagnostic and screening mammograms and biopsies.
• Operate Hologic 3D equipment, PACS, and Synapse/Hologic systems.
• May float between sister facilities near the contracted location.
• Confirm prior Providence employment history (permanent, travel, or registry).
• Provide breast imaging procedures and follow safety protocols.
• Arrange two supervisory references from last 3 years.
• Local candidates within 50 miles may be considered.
• Must work 3 of 5 major holidays.

• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE, radiation safety, and universal precautions/core measures
• Ability to teach breast self-exams preferred
• Management or lead experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Inpatient and outpatient mammography setting
• Day shift, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Preferred experience with Epic charting system
• Performs 3-D mammography, diagnostic and screening mammograms, digital mammography, fine needle aspiration, needle localizations, and stereotactic biopsy
• Uses Hologic 3D equipment, PACS, and Synapse/Hologic systems
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Performs breast imaging procedures including screening and diagnostic mammograms, 3-D mammography, and biopsy-related procedures
• Candidates must confirm any prior employment history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem work
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required
• Former Providence staff may return as travelers after a 3-month break, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered local
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer
• Must be willing to work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)
