Job summary

American Traveler is currently hiring a Mammography Technologist to join the diagnostic imaging team for a day shift. The role requires ARRT(M) certification, active Radiologic Technologist credentials, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in mammography with strong PACS/RIS/HIS familiarity.

Responsibilities include managing the women’s health section, QA and safety compliance, and cross-training in other imaging modalities. The position may involve call or overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • ARRT(M) mammography certification and Radiologic Technologist licensure as applicable.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in mammography and radiology workflows.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Experience with PACS/RIS/HIS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage women's health section within diagnostic imaging.
  • Maintain day shift schedule and adapt to cross-modality coverage.
  • Ensure QA, safety and ALARA guidelines are followed.
  • Verify orders, confirm patient identity, and document procedures.
  • Manage patient education and accurate EHR charging.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with ARRT(R)(M) certification and 2+ years of experience for a day shift position.

Requirements
  • Active state license required if applicable
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
  • ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Preferred experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist, CT, and MRI technologist
  • Preferred cross-training in other modalities including CT, MRI, and DEXA
  • Experience with electronic records including PACS and RIS/HIS preferred
Responsibilities
  • Women's health section of diagnostic imaging within a radiology department
  • Day shift schedule
  • Flexibility to assist in other modalities and adjust schedules as needed
  • May include call, overtime, or holiday shifts
  • Responsible for daily operations of the women's health section including quality improvement and training coordination
  • Adheres to FDA guidelines and maintains accreditation records for mammography services
  • Performs daily QA and preventative maintenance scheduling
  • Practices radiation safety adhering to ALARA standards
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues and coordinates service engineer calls when neededVerifies exam orders, confirms patient identity, and provides patient education
  • Reviews patient medical history and obtains informed consent prior to procedures
  • Maintains accurate patient records in EHR including charging for procedures and supplies
  • May assist with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation as needed
  • May assist in training or cross-training other imaging staff members
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining supply inventory
  • Must adhere to facility dress code policies
