Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Mammography Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Reston, Virginia. This travel role is 40 hours per week with daytime shifts (8 hours). The Mammo Tech will perform mammography studies, develop images, and coordinate with radiologists for interpretation.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of Mammo experience, BLS, ARRT(M) certification and any required state licensing. Proficiency with PACS (McKesson) and accurate patient records is essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Mammo experience.
• BLS and ARRT(M) National Certification with mammography registration.
• State-specific licensing when required.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and explain imaging procedures.
• Interpret doctors' instructions for imaging.
• Perform mammography study and ensure quality of images.

We are looking for a Mammography Technologist (Mammo Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Reston, VA. The right Mammo Tech should have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As a Mammo Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
• Conduct mammography study and maintain production and quality of mammograms by following established standards and procedures, determining necessary adjustments for optimum results
• Develop mammograms, observe mammogram results, retake mammograms as required, and forward completed studies to radiologist for interpretation
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARRT (M) National Certification with registration in mammography, and state-specific licensing when required.

Mammo Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Mammo Techs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
