Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist to join a teaching hospital's imaging department. The role requires dual X‑Ray and Mammography proficiency, ARRT certifications, BLS, and a MA Radiology license if applicable.

You’ll work in a modern imaging suite with MRI, CT, ultrasound and PACS systems, on days with some weekends and holidays. Travel-friendly benefits and housing allowances accompany a comprehensive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years X-Ray experience; 1 year current required.
• Minimum 2 years Mammography experience required.
• ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) certifications required.
• Active BLS certification (AHA) required.
• MA Radiology license required if applicable.
• Must have own vehicle for assignment.
• Signed supervisory reference from past 2 years.
• Current Mammography and X-Ray skills checklists required.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging department offering MRI, CT, ultrasound, X-Ray and mammography services.
• Day shift schedule, 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
• Must be willing to work weekends and evenings as needed; Holiday coverage required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Perform a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative to facilitate diagnosis.
• May assume supervisory or instructional responsibilities for department personnel as assigned.
• Demonstrate proficiency with PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems, including CR, DR, and PACS troubleshooting.
• Practice infection control and body substance isolation in compliance with hospital and OSHA standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Attend annual mandatory education including bloodborne pathogens and infection control training.
• Must remain current with continuing education in both radiology and mammography.
• Must be willing to work two required holiday blocks, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year periods with surrounding weekends.
• No more than 5 days of RTO accepted, and all time off requests must be finalized prior to submission.
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered for this assignment.
• First-time travelers may be considered if all scheduling and experience requirements are met.
