Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Long Term Acute Care for a travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin. The right RN should have at least 1 year of LTAC or similar high-acuity experience and a current BLS certification.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, assessments, ventilator care, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. The assignment is 13 weeks long, with 36 hours per week and a 12-hour night shift.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 1 year of RN experience in LTAC or similar high-acuity setting.
• Current BLS certification and state licensure eligibility.
• Ability to perform head-to-toe assessments and monitor patient condition.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Administer IV medications, manage central lines, and monitor vital signs and labs.
• Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care, and wound management.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians, and case managers on treatment plans.
• Support mobility, hygiene, and nutritional needs of patients.
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs to ensure quality care delivery.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.
• Document care activities in real time and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
