Powerserve Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Substation Technician for statewide Florida projects. This traveling role focuses on above-grade substation construction, mentoring junior technicians, and leading field teams.

You will install, assemble, and commission high-voltage equipment while upholding safety and quality on diverse sites. Qualified candidates have 5+ years in substation work, experience with SF6 breakers, and proficiency with drawings and schematics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in above-grade substation construction.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment installation and commissioning.
• Experience with SF6 breakers and gas handling procedures.
• Familiarity with substation drawings, schematics, and layouts.
• Experience leading or mentoring junior technicians is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Install and erect substation steel structures and above-grade components.
• Set and install high-voltage equipment (breakers, transformers, disconnect switches, surge arresters).
• Perform switchgear installation and testing across manufacturers.
• Assist with protection & control equipment installation and wiring.
• Support commissioning, testing, energization, and retrofits on substations.
• Read and interpret prints, one-lines, schematics, and drawings.
• Adhere to safety standards and job site protocols.
• Mentor and train junior technicians and potentially lead crews.
