Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in substation construction (above-grade work).
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment installation.
• Experience with SF6 breakers and gas procedures.
• Familiarity with substation drawings, schematics, layouts.
• Experience with switchgear installation and testing.
• Willingness to travel throughout Florida for projects.
• Ability to work a 4x10 schedule with overtime as needed.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Install and erect substation steel structures and above-grade components.
• Set and install high-voltage equipment ( breakers, transformers, switches).
• Perform switchgear installation across manufacturers.
• Assist with protection & control equipment installation and wiring.
• Support commissioning, testing, and energization activities.
• Perform retrofits, upgrades, and equipment changeouts.
• Read and interpret prints, one-lines, schematics, drawings.
• Ensure safety standards and job site protocols.
• Mentor and train junior technicians; assist with crew leadership.
