Responsibilities

• Monitor patients throughout labor and serve as the primary contact for families.

Job description

Responsibilities

Labor and Delivery RNs (L&D RNs) are responsible for monitoring patients throughout labor and serve as the primary point of contact for family members. L&D RNs monitor baby’s heart rate and provide immediate care to the newborn. L&D RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• L&D RNs perform knowledge of phlebotomy, basic IV and central lines
• Assess and record maternal vital signs throughout labor and post-partum stages
• Administer pain medication and other medicines as ordered
• Educate and support new mothers and families on infant care

Required Certifications and Experience

• Current and valid RN license in New Jersey
• Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery RN nursing experience
• Epic experience required

Other Requirements

• Must be willing to travel to New Jersey for the duration of the contract
• Must be willing to work nights (3x12 shifts)
• Travel assignment duration: 13 weeks
• Candidates must be willing to float to similar units if required
