Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing—Nursing seeks a Travel Labor and Delivery RN for a 26-week assignment in Eureka, CA. You will provide obstetric patient care, monitor fetal health, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe labor and delivery, with a 12-hour night shift and 36 hours per week.

The role requires 1 year of L&D RN experience, an active RN license, and current BLS/NRP certifications. Travel compensation includes competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with regulatory standards for obstetric nursing care.
