Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Salem, MA. You will provide obstetric care, monitor maternal and fetal status, and collaborate with physicians and support staff to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of recent L&D experience, an active RN license, BLS, and NRP certification. This travel role offers 40 hours/week, 8-hour days, comprehensive benefits, and dedicated clinical support from Fusion Medical Staffing.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
• Perform other duties as assigned within labor and delivery nursing
