Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13-week assignment in Augusta, GA. You’ll work 40 hours per week on days, providing expert obstetric care and supporting families through labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.

The role requires 1 year of L&D experience, GA RN licensure, BLS and NRP certification; preferred credentials include AWHONN fetal monitoring, STABLE and ACLS.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience.
• Active RN license in GA and current BLS.
• NRP certification is required.
• AWHONN fetal monitoring is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during labor and delivery.
• Provide immediate postpartum care and newborn stabilization.
• Educate patients on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and team members.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document care and participate in quality-improvement initiatives.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
