Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is hiring a Travel Labor and Delivery RN for a 19-week assignment in Frederick, MD. The role focuses on obstetric care, maternal and fetal assessment, and coordinating with the care team to ensure patient safety during labor and delivery.

The position requires an RN license, BLS, NRP, and at least one year of L&D experience. Benefits include competitive pay, first-day insurance, PTO after 1560 hours, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• One years’ recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification (preferred)
• STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC) (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing
