Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Aurora, CO. The role involves providing comprehensive obstetric care, monitoring maternal and fetal status, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and quality in labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of L&D experience, an active Colorado RN license, and current BLS and NRP certifications.

Qualifications

• One year recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in Colorado.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing protocols.
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and examinations of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including mother and newborn assessment and stabilization.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and team members for cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
