Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Topeka, KS. You will provide comprehensive obstetric patient care, monitor fetal status, and administer treatments during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.

The role requires a valid RN license, current BLS, NRP certification, and one year of Labor and Delivery experience. Travel rewards include competitive pay and benefits with support from a dedicated clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with regulatory standards for obstetric nursing care.
• Perform other duties within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.
