Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Specialist in a facility located in the Midwest. This position involves providing specialized care to obstetric and gynecological patients, including those in labor, antepartum, postpartum, and GYN surgical patients. The role focuses on supporting high patient acuity units with experienced obstetric nursing skills.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The assignment begins on 10/12/2026 and concludes on 01/09/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Valid L & D (Labor and Delivery) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), 2+ years of obstetric nursing experience, and the ability to care for antepartum, postpartum, GYN surgical, and laboring patients.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with fetal monitoring, triage patient assessments, newborn care, and nursery support.
• Additional Information:
  • Support within the department includes charge RN duties, blood drawing by RNs, bedside FHM, and limited resource RNs.
  • OB MDs have a 30-minute call back time.
  • Technology and equipment include EPIC electronic medical records, Alaris infusion pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems.
  • Floating to inpatient units to act as a sitter or in a CNA role may be required.
  • Orientation includes a New Employee Orientation (NEO) and at least one shift to learn the departmental flow.
  • Weekend rotations occur every other weekend.
  • On-call and holiday schedules vary based on the contract, with approval for up to 7 days of remote time off (RTO).
  • The scrub color allowed is any color, and parking is available in designated yellow-lined areas in front of the building or near the emergency department.
