Responsibilities
- Labor and Delivery RNs (L&D RNs) monitor patients during labor and serve as the primary point of contact for family members.
- Monitor the baby’s heart rate and provide immediate newborn care.
- Perform knowledge of phlebotomy, basic IV, and central lines.
- Assess and record maternal vital signs throughout labor and postpartum stages.
- Administer pain medication and other medicines as ordered.
- Educate and support new mothers and families on infant care.
