Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in San Jose, CA. The role involves direct obstetric care, fetal monitoring, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The position requires 1 year of L&D RN experience, valid RN license, BLS and NRP certifications, with shifts of 12 hours in days and a 36-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor and delivery.
• Provide immediate postpartum care and newborn stabilization.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists and team members.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document care and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
