Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 14-week night shift assignment in California. This travel role requires 2+ years of L&D experience and the ability to circulate C-sections.

The unit features a Family Birthing Center with 13 L&D beds, 9 Mother Baby beds, and 2 OR suites. Shifts are 12 hours, with no-call requirements for travelers, and generous housing allowances are provided.

Qualifications

Active California RN license is required.
BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required.
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required.
Must be able to circulate C-sections.
Two supervisor/peer references required (one within 12 months, one within 3 years).
Copy of driver's license required at submission to validate legal name matches government-issued ID.

Responsibilities

Manage 13 L&D beds, 9 Mother Baby beds, plus 2 OR suites.
12-hour night shifts with every other weekend.
Patient loads: 1:2 laboring, 1:4 postpartum.
Cerner EMR used; float to Mother Baby or Level 1 nursery for experienced travelers.
No nurse aides on unit; charge nurse handles overflow.
High-volume center: 90–100 births per month.
