Job summary

HealthForce Healthcare in Lancaster, Ohio seeks a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery travel assignment. You will provide direct RN care from admission to discharge, including postpartum and newborn care, and collaborate with the care team on fetal monitoring.

The role requires EFM certification and an Ohio RN license, with CPR certification. This 8-week assignment runs nights in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital, with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certificate required.
• CPR certification.
• Education: Associate degree in nursing; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Experience: RN experience preferred, with emphasis on labor and delivery or acute care.
• Ability to work in a hospital setting and manage night-shift L&D unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct RN care to obstetric patients from admission to discharge, including postpartum and newborn care as applicable.
• Monitor fetal status with Electronic Fetal Monitoring and respond to non-reassuring findings with the care team.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and implement physician orders accurately and safely.
• Educate patients and families about labor, postpartum care, and newborn care; support discharge planning.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team; supervise and delegate tasks to nursing assistants and staff as needed.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are ready and functioning; maintain a safe, clean environment and report safety concerns.
