Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks a Labor and Delivery RN for a 16-week travel assignment in Augusta, GA. This role requires 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts, offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

You will provide obstetric nursing care, monitor maternal and fetal health, administer treatments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care during labor, delivery and the postpartum period.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Valid RN license compliant with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP Certification

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing protocols
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during labor, delivery and examinations
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including mother and newborn assessment and stabilization
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists and other team members
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments and interventions in the medical record
• Support quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with hospital policies, state laws and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing
