Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Vacaville, CA. You will provide comprehensive obstetric care, monitor fetal status, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

The role requires a valid RN license, BLS, NRP, and at least one year of L&D experience. Travel benefits, competitive pay, and a supportive clinical team are included.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license compliant with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery and examinations.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care.
