Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week assignment in Waterloo, Iowa. The role requires 1 year of L&D experience, Iowa RN license, BLS, and NRP certification, with nights and 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week.

You will provide obstetric care, monitor mother and fetus, assist during labor and delivery, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes. Travel opportunities and competitive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• One years’ recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
