Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Travel Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week assignment. This role offers nightly 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, and a tax-free stipend together with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

As part of our team, you’ll provide obstetric care, monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications, and collaborate with obstetricians and neonatologists to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• One year's recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with regulatory standards for obstetric nursing care
• Perform other duties as assigned within labor and delivery nursing
