Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a Birth Center role in Washington. Requires at least 1 year of L&D experience and an active WA license; travel-friendly with 12-hour night shifts, EPIC Stork/GE Centricity EMR, and Level III trauma center experience.

First-time travelers are welcome to apply and will provide comprehensive L&D care including cervical exams, fetal monitoring, epidurals, IV therapy, and postpartum support within a busy mother/baby unit.

Qualifications

Active WA license or compact license required.
Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required.
Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
Fetal monitoring certification required (AWHONN or Relias).
Strong L&D skills including cervical exams, antepartum and labor care, amnio infusion, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IV therapy and Pitocin administration.
Post-partum experience with mother and baby beyond the initial 24-hour transition period, including basic breastfeeding support.
Experience with couplet care once mother and baby are stable.
Pyxis medication dispensing experience required.
Experience with HUGS security system preferred.

Responsibilities

Work in the Birth Center unit of a Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds.
Unit includes 9 LDR, 2 OB OR, 2 OB PACU, 11 Level II NICU, 4 bed Peds, 20 bed Mother/Baby, 18 bed START unit for Perinatal Addiction, and 3 OB ED beds.
Level II Perinatal Center caring for patients 32 weeks and above.
Perform epidurals, fetal monitoring, and IV therapy.
Handle antepartum care requiring continued fetal monitoring and post-labor transition to Mother/Baby.
Unit averages 175-200 deliveries per month.
Patient ratios follow AWHONN and NANN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active.
Uses Epic Stork and GE Centricity EMR systems.
