Job summary

TotalMed RN in Mitchell, SD is seeking a Labor and Delivery travel nurse for a 13-week assignment. The position requires 3 years of recent acute care RN experience with 36 hours per week on a night shift (12-hour shifts).

The role involves direct patient care before, during, and after delivery, and supporting physicians during epidurals or cesarean prep. L&D travel nurses must handle fast-paced demands, ensure safety, and meet both medical and emotional patient needs.

Qualifications

• 3 years' recent acute care experience in RN

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient during labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression.
• Keep beds clean and dry and manage bodily fluids.
• Assist physician with delivery setup and instruments.
• Provide immediate newborn care.
