Job summary
Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a Travel Nurse RN in Labor and Delivery for an assignment in Smyrna, Tennessee. This 13-week travel position involves 36 hours per week on a night shift, offering competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team.
Ideal candidates will have 1 year of L&D RN experience, active RN license in good standing, BLS, and NRP certification, with additional certifications welcomed.
Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
- Valid RN license in accordance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.
Responsibilities
- Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques.
- Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor and delivery.
- Provide immediate postpartum care and newborn assessment.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery and newborn care.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists and team members.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
- Document care and assessments in the medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpretation of results.
