Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Iron Worker for a contract-to-hire role based in St. Louis, MO. You will erect structural steel for high-performance facilities and support systems within data centers and AI compute campuses.

The role requires 3+ years of ironworking experience, ability to read drawings, and a strong safety mindset. You will work outdoors at heights, with extended hours during critical construction windows, onsite in a fully on-site environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years ironworking experience on commercial or industrial projects.
• Ability to read structural/erection drawings and work to AISC details.
• Hands-on with bolts, cutting, aerial lifts, ladders, and material-handling equipment.
• Willingness to work at heights outdoors on changing construction sites.
• Strong safety mindset with OSHA 10 or equivalent training.
• Willingness to work extended hours, nights and weekends during critical windows.

Responsibilities

• Erect structural steel for data center and related facilities.
• Install stairs, ladders, platforms, catwalks, and equipment frames.
• Fabricate and install pipe racks, mezzanines, and support steel for cooling and IT systems.
• Rig, hoist, and set heavy members using cranes and lifting gear.
• Bolt, torque, weld and plumb connections per drawings and standards.
• Read and interpret drawings and lay out from control points.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and electrical crews for embeds and supports.
• Follow fall protection, crane, rigging, hot-work, lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.
• Support inspection, punch-list, and turnover activities.
