Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to support a vascular invasive services unit in Des Moines, IA. The role requires 12 months of vascular/endovascular experience and active ARRT (R) certification, with emphasis on scrubbing, circulating and monitoring during vascular procedures.

The position features a 4x10 shift pattern (40 hours/week) with on-call duties and potential cross-campus float, and prefers candidates with OR, Cardiac Cath Lab and Level I trauma

Qualifications

• Active ARRT (R) certification required
• ARRT CI or VI certification highly preferred
• Iowa Radiology license highly preferred; license required if applicable, with candidates willing to obtain licensure considered
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) preferred
• Minimum 12 months of vascular procedure experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Vascular scrub experience required
• Endovascular experience required
• Peripheral vascular experience required
• Current or prior experience supporting Operating Room procedures required
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience in a hospital or medical center setting preferred
• Level I trauma experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Responsibilities

• Invasive Vascular Services unit at a hospital with Level I trauma designation
• Vascular procedure patient population with an average of 25 cases per day
• 4x10 hour day shifts totaling 40 hours per week
• Call requirements of 1-2 nights per week plus every third weekend from 7pm Friday through 7am Monday
• Required to float across campuses when needed
• One call team covers both facilities, with most emergencies handled at the primary facility
• Uses Epic EMR
• Responsibilities include scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring during vascular procedures
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• First-time travelers welcomed
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
• Past UPH employees (FTE or PRN float pool) cannot work travel assignments in another market regardless of current or recent facility affiliation within the past 12 months
