American Traveler is hiring an Invasive Cardiac Tech / Cath Lab Technologist with 3+ years of experience for a high‑acuity cardiac cath lab at a Magnet‑designated Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, WI.

Details

• Located in Milwaukee, WI at a 933‑bed, Magnet‑designated, Level III Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Cardiac Services: Interventional unit with approximately 11 dedicated Cath Lab procedure rooms (out of 15 total labs shared with EP and Hybrid)
• High‑acuity, fast‑paced Cath Lab seeing 24–40 cases per day with adult patients only; no pediatric cases
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Cath Lab procedures include diagnostic, interventional, RHC, LHC, STEMI/NSTEMI, CTO, valvuloplasty, CardioMEMS, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, and Impella; ECMO experience preferred
• Peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases, including fistulograms
• Hybrid experience (AAA grafts, thoracic grafts, clips, TAVRs, Watchman) is preferred but not required
• Travelers will work in the Cath Lab only and will not rotate to EP or Hybrid labs
• Varying shifts of 8 or 12 hours (0800–2030 or 1200–2030), or a combination, to meet a 40‑hour weekly requirement
• Department is staffed 24/7; day/mid rotation with occasional weekend shifts
• Call required from end of shift until 0600 the following morning; 30‑minute response time required
• On‑call rotation is Friday–Friday (7 consecutive days) every 2–3 months
• Weekend scheduling is generally call‑based; travelers are occasionally scheduled for weekend shifts
• Travelers typically do not work holidays
• Charting via Epic; experience required
• Equipment includes GE C‑arms, Alaris, Pyxis, Volcano, St. Jude, Alphavac, Angiovac, EKOS, Anari, GE Pruka (Maclab) hemodynamic system, Maquet IABP, and PACS systems Fuji and ProSolv
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Cath Lab experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• Proficiency in Cath Lab and peripheral cases including diagnostic, interventional, STEMI/NSTEMI, IABP, and Impella
• RN requirements: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred
• RTR requirements: BLS, ACLS, ARRT(R), WI license; RCIS preferred
• RN candidates must have experience with conscious sedation and titrating/managing drips
• RTR candidates must be proficient in scrubbing and panning
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the last year
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration
• First‑time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible

Additional Information

• Permanent staff will monitor cases; travelers are not expected to monitor independently
• Robust unit support includes housekeeping for room turnover, storeroom staff for supply management, a daytime transporter (0630–2000), a Receptionist/HUC (0600–2000), a Charge Nurse/Lead Tech, RT available 24/7 for ventilated patients, 24/7 Hospitalist and Cardiology coverage, and a Critical Response Team for codes
• Orientation is approximately 1 week
• A fatigue policy is in place limiting all staff, including travelers, to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12‑hour shifts
• Scrubs are provided
• Free parking is available on site
• COVID vaccine required
• Up to 7 days of time off may be approved during the contract
