American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist for a travel assignment in Springfield, Illinois. This role supports a Level I trauma hospital with a 36-hour work week across 12-hour day shifts, starting Nov 23, 2026, for 13 weeks. Must have at least 1 year in cardiac cath lab and ARRT-R or RCIS certification.

You will perform diagnostic and interventional cath procedures, operate Cerner EMR, and contribute to patient care across adult and geriatric populations. Travel benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in Cardiac Cath Lab
• BLS, ACLS, ARRT-R, and RCIS certifications required (RCIS or ARRT-R accepted; ARRT-R preferred)
• Cerner charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac implant closure devices, stents, diagnostic caths, IABP, PCI/PTCA, rotablator atherectomy
• Skilled in interpretation of dysrhythmias and life-threatening arrhythmias
• Isolation precautions and PPE competency required

Responsibilities

• Equipment setup, room circulating, scrubbing, and sterile field maintenance
• Open to first-time travelers and local candidates
• Floating within the hospital or to nearby facilities as needed
• Scrubs provided and on-call duties as needed

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital, requiring 1+ year of cardiac cath lab experience and ARRT or RCIS certification.

Details

• Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab unit


• Adult and geriatric cardiac patient population


• 3x12 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM


• Will work 2-3 weekends per contract


• On-call required as needed, rotating with staff and agency, with a dedicated call team


• Does not float outside of scope


• Uses Cerner EMR


• 562 staffed bed acute care hospital

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience in Cardiac Cath Lab required


• BLS, ACLS, ARRT-R, and CCI RCIS certifications required (will accept RCIS or ARRT-R, ARRT-R preferred)


• License required if applicable


• Cerner charting experience required


• Experience with cardiac implant closure device, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy required


• Skilled in interpretation of dysrhythmias and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias


• Experience with equipment setup, scrubbing, and maintaining sterile field requiredi>
  
• Isolation precautions and PPE competency required


• Experience with middle and older adult age populations required

• Responsibilities include equipment setup, room circulating, scrubbing, and sterile field maintenance

• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction


• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities


• Scrubs provided


• Previous perm or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler


• RTO ideally no more than 5 days


• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays


• Magnet-designated, Level I trauma acute care hospital
