Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist - Special Procedures for a 13-week contract in Charleston, SC. The role requires IR/Hybrid OR experience and ARRT Radiography certification, with on-site duties in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include performing Special Procedures under radiologist supervision, supervising students, and ensuring patient prep and consent. Travel considerations and housing are available to eligible travelers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as radiologic technologist or 1+ year in Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology
• Recent IR/Hybrid OR experience required
• ARRT Radiography (R) Certification required
• BLS certification through AHA required
• SC or compact license active if applicable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support Special Procedures department within a hospital setting
• Mon-Fri schedule, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
• May float to a sister hospital nearby as needed
• On-call one week every 4th week
• Use Cerner for charting
• Perform procedures under supervision and assist as needed
• Supervise student radiologic technologists
• Instruct and prep patients for imaging and obtain consent
• Communicate with radiologists and families regarding procedures and discharge
• Practice radiation safety per ALARA and DHEC/TJC guidelines
• Support imaging team with record maintenance and cross-department assistance
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from facility; local candidates not accepted
• Returning travelers may stay on assignment up to 1 year with a 30-60 day break before returning

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist - Special Procedures with recent IR/Hybrid OR experience for a 13-week contract in Charleston, SC.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience as a radiologic technologist, or at least 1 year of experience in Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology
• Recent IR/Hybrid OR experience required
• Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals
• ARRT Radiography (R) Certification required
• BLS certification through AHA required
• South Carolina Radiation Quality Standard Association (SCRQSA) Radiographer Certification required
• Active SC or compact license required, if applicable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to perform and teach Special Procedures exams to produce diagnostic quality films
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations

Responsibilities

• Special Procedures department within a hospital setting
• Mon-Fri schedule, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
• May float to a sister hospital nearby as needed
• On-call requirement of one week every 4th week
• Uses Cerner for charting
• Perform Special Procedures under medical supervision of certified radiologists, assisting with procedures as needed
• Supervise student radiologic technologists assigned to them
• Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures and assist with informed consent
• Communicate with radiologists and family members regarding procedures and discharge instructions
• Practice radiation safety following ALARA principles and DHEC/TJC guidelines
• Support imaging team through record maintenance and cross-department assistance as needed
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Returning travelers may stay on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date, then must take a 30-60 day break before returning
