Job summary

TotalMed is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Olney, MD. The role requires 1 year of acute care experience, ARRT (R), BLS, and ACLS certifications, with state licensure as applicable, and preferred vascular interventional certification.

The IR Tech will operate fluoroscopic equipment, assist physicians, monitor patients, and ensure radiation safety while maintaining thorough documentation and PACS usage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience.
• Must have BLS, ACLS, and ARRT (R) certification and state licensing where required.
• Vascular Interventional certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate fluoroscopic equipment and assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures.
• Prepare and observe patients undergoing procedures; report abnormal activity.
• Confirm patient identification and explain procedures to patients; provide reassurance.
• Assist in scrubbing diagnostic and interventional procedures; monitor patient during all procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of radiation protection standards and equipment to minimize exposure.
• Maintain accurate patient records; use McKesson PACS system.
