• Verify and enter correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical histories into the computer system; maintain clear communication with radiologists.
• Adhere to safety policies and guidelines in accordance with relevant regulatory bodies such as OSHA, DHEC, and TJC.
• Practice radiation safety and ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
• Support the department’s objectives and contribute to team initiatives, demonstrating flexibility and accountability in job duties.
• Collaborate with other members of the Imaging Team and assist in maintaining departmental records and files.

Special Procedures Technologist

Job Summary

Under the medical supervision of certified radiologists and following established protocols, Special Procedures Technologists perform imaging procedures necessary for the direct results of interpretation. These professionals assist radiologists with procedures and oversee the clinical education of student Radiologic Technologists, while fostering positive customer relations.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years as a Radiologic Technologist or at least 1 year of experience in Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology.

Knowledge and Skills

• Able to perform and teach Special Procedures exams for satisfactory diagnostic imaging.
• Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Proficient in the operation of standard office equipment.

Education and Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals.
• South Carolina Radiation Quality Standard Association (SCRQSA) Radiographer Certification.
• ARRT Radiography (R) Certification.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Schedule

Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible between 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM; may float to other locations as needed.

On-call duty is required: one week every four weeks.
