Medical Solutions Allied is seeking a Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist in Winston-Salem, NC. The role requires IR tech expertise, BLS and ARRT-R or RCIS certification, with 2+ years IR experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting. Schedule is 8-hour days, 40 hours per week, on a travel basis.

Responsibilities

Scrub and assist in IR procedures.
Circulate/operate on the backend for cases (2 techs per case).
Maintain equipment and sterile technique.
Adhere to department protocols and patient safety.

Department Information:
- 10 rooms specific to Interventional Radiology
- Average patients/day? 46-50 cases
- Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years specific to IR/Neuro IR and at Level 1 Trauma
- Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- Interventional Radiology – Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Stroke, Cancer, Tumors, blocked vessels -Peripheral, Carotid, IVC, SVC, etc.
- Neuro: Stroke, Ruptures, Subdural fistulas, any complex Neuro cases can be seen (3 Neurosurgeons currently on staff)
- Body: complex bleeds, several providers who have started Oncology services (Liver and other types of cancer), abscess drains and other interventions
Required License, National Certification, Certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
- IR Tech: BLS; ARRT-R or RCIS
Skills required:
- Scrubbing and assisting in procedures; being able to circulate/operate on the back end for the procedures (2 techs per case); being knowledgeable about equipment
Support within the Department:
- Tech extenders – 3 currently on staff (rotate thru dept. – transport/inventory)
- 2 per day
- 2 Techs per Room
- 4 Neuro providers – Neuro Radiologist and 3 surgeons
- 5 Body Docs
Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: EPIC Encompass
- Department specific Equipment: Siemens, GE and Philips imaging systems and GE US Units
Orientation (facility and unit):
- Up to 2 weeks in department, based on experience and comfort level
Scheduling:
- Schedule cycle: every 8 weeks
Other notes:
- Scrub Color: hospital provided
- Parking: Free
- Department Culture: Very green with new grads – need to be comfortable with new grads and preceptorship, if needed
