Job summary

Focus Staff is seeking a traveling Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Charlottesville, VA. The role involves operating radiographic equipment for vascular and neuroradiology procedures, with a 5x8 day shift and 8-hour days.

The candidate must have proven IR Radiographer experience, strong patient safety knowledge, and excellent communication skills with staff, physicians and patients. Benefits include health insurance, 401k matching, and licensing reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Interventional Radiographer.
• Independent decision-making skills required.
• Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions.
• Excellent communication with staff, physicians, patients and families.
• Ability to relate positively to residents and families, and work cooperatively with others.
• Meet local health regulations and pass a post-offer health assessment.
• Physical and sensory requirements include mobility, dexterity, hearing, reading and writing; stay calm under stress.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Develop and maintain skills in clinical systems (RIS, PACS, Kronos, etc.).
• Monitor equipment performance to specification.
• Assist supervisor with supplies for patient care.
• Ensure exam information is captured at the time of the exam.
• Assist radiologists in exams ensuring clinical excellence.
