Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel IR Tech for a 15-week assignment in Rochester, NY. This role involves assisting physicians in minimally invasive interventional radiology procedures using imaging tech and maintaining patient safety.

You will prepare patients, operate fluoroscopy and other imaging modalities, scrub in for sterile procedures, and support a fast-paced IR lab environment with a dedicated clinical team.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
• Valid ARRT, or RCIS/RCES Certification in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Operate imaging equipment (fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound) to guide procedures.
• Assist physicians by scrubbing in for sterile procedures and maintaining a sterile field.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details.
• Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Maintain radiation safety for patients, staff, and self.
• Troubleshoot imaging equipment and ensure readiness for procedures.
• Restock supplies and manage procedural materials.
• Collaborate with radiologists and nurses to provide seamless care.
• Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols.
• Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures.
• Perform other duties to support IR lab operations.
