The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) registered nurse (RN) position is based in a healthcare facility dedicated to providing patient care for a diverse patient population including cardiac, neuro, and med-surg patients. The role involves working night shifts on a 12-hour schedule, with a focus on supporting unit staffing needs during the holiday season and potentially participating in charge responsibilities. This assignment offers the opportunity to work in a teaching environment with students and new hires, contributing to a collaborative culture.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48.0 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active VA or Compact license, 1 year of relevant experience, previous charge responsibility preferred, experience with Cerner electronic medical records, and travel experience is required for all Centra positions
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CVA, neuro, or cardiac acuity patients, previous experience with charge responsibilities, and familiarity with the electronic medical record system
• Additional Information: Orientation sessions are scheduled for 10/5 and 10/19. The assignment can last up to 20 weeks to provide staffing coverage during the holiday season, with participation in at least one major holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day). The unit follows a 2/3 weekends per month schedule but cannot always accommodate weekend-only requests; discussions with the healthcare professional are recommended. The position requires commitment to a supportive environment, especially when interacting with students and new hires.
