Gifted Healthcare is seeking an Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse (IMCU RN) to care for patients with serious conditions in our facility. You will assess patient needs, monitor vital signs, and coordinate care with the treatment team.

The role emphasizes advocacy, effective communication with patients, families, and physicians, and hands-on support to physicians during examinations and treatments. Shift is 3x12 nights.

Responsibilities

Intermediate Care Unit RNs (IMCU RNs) treat patients who are suffering from serious conditions, such as diabetes mellitus, electrolyte imbalances, renal failure, liver failure, gastrointestinal bleeds, blood disorders, cancer, sepsis, respiratory distress or multi-system organ failure. IMCU RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assess each patient’s needs individually and collect relevant data, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pain levels, according to the facility’s prescribed procedure
• Perform physician-prescribed treatments and communicate effectively with patients, families, and physicians, being an advocate for the patient
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examination and treatment of patients
