Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment in Texas, requiring a TX or compact RN license and 2+ years of ICU experience. This travel role emphasizes patient care, charting, and flexibility across floors.

You will work 3x12-hour night shifts, may float to other floors or campuses, and enjoy travel reimbursements, housing support, and per diem options. A strong nursing background and compliance with drug screening are essential.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TX or compact) required in hand at time of consideration.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Travel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
• May be asked to float to a different floor or to the facility's other campus.
• Altera charting experience preferred but not required.
• Deliver direct, individualized nursing care based on the nursing process and scientific nursing principles.
• Collaborate with other healthcare disciplines to ensure effective patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with any positive result resulting in automatic cancellation.
• Candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen upon arrival.
• Clinicians must complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a plan in place for timely completion.
• Must reside 150 miles or more from the facility to be eligible for this position.
• Previous permanent staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler.
• RTO may be accommodated if the traveler can work full hours around the requested time off, missing no more than 1-2 shifts.
