Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week, night-shift travel assignment in West Virginia. Requires at least 1 year of critical care experience and proficiency with CRRT, IABP, and ventilator management.

Active WV or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and ability to work 1900–0730 shifts are required. EPIC EMR experience and unit float duties are expected, with comprehensive benefits and travel accommodations.

Qualifications

• Active WV or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year of critical care experience.
• Competent with CRRT, IABP, ventilators and vasoactive meds; sedation and paralytics.
• Titratation of critical care drips and central line care/removal.
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius; traveler eligibility rules apply.

Responsibilities

• ICU care for an 18-bed unit with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio; 1:1 for CRRT/organ donation cases.
• Use EPIC EMR; monitor telemetry with remote tech backup.
• Night shifts 1900–0730; self- and block-scheduling per unit needs.
• Float to Stepdown and MedSurg as required; charge nurse oversees nights/weekends.
• RT coverage 7a–7p; intensivist 7a–7p; hospitalist overnight 6p–6a.
• Pharmacist on unit 07:00–16:30; orientation includes 2 shifts.
• Holiday coverage may be required; travel rules around WVU Medicine policy.
