Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an ICU travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in New Haven, Connecticut. This 13-week travel RN role requires 1-2 years of acute care experience and shifts are 12 hours, nights.

As an ICU Travel Nurse, you will monitor patients in ICU, document and implement physician-directed care plans, and support families and the care team. ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications are required; lifting up to 50 pounds may be necessary.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Take samples for lab work, order corresponding lab work and interpret reports.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads and tubing.
• Communicate patients' conditions to family members.
