Job summary

Staffmax Healthcare in Rapid City, South Dakota seeks a travel nurse RN for ICU. This temporary assignment runs 15 weeks with 48 hours per week, 12-hour nights. Start date 09/28/2026; pay package based on 12-hour shifts with tax-free stipend to be determined. Requires BSN and ICU experience, plus BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and SD or compact license.

Qualifications

• 1.5 years general nursing experience.
• BSN required.
• MUST BE ICU LEVEL RN, willing to float to MedSurg/Tele.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• South Dakota or compact RN License.
• ICU level RN – willing to float to Med/Tele – this is a float pool position throughout scope of practice.
• Must have experience with titration drips: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levo, Dopamine, Insulin.
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, Blood product administration, CIWA, drain/tube management, indwelling and straight catheter insertion/management, continuous bladder irrigation, chest tube maintenance.
• Experience with Cardiac procedural recovery (CABG/TAVR/post Cardiac Cath), MI pharmacology, Heparin gtts.

Responsibilities

• Provide ICU-level nursing care in a travel assignment.
• Float across Med/Surg/Tele as needed within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality care.
