Job summary

TotalMed RN in Arcata, CA is seeking an ICU travel nurse to join a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week. Night shifts alternate as needed, offering an experienced RN the chance to work in a dynamic ICU environment and support patient care on a travel assignment.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of acute care experience, current ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications, and the ability to manage critical care tasks, monitor equipment, and communicate effectively with patients' families while maintaining

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications required.
• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside and direct patient care in ICU.
• Administer medications and document responses; report adverse reactions.
• Order/evaluate diagnostic tests and interpret lab results.
• Monitor specialized ICU equipment and interpret vital signs.
• Ensure correct placement of catheters and tubing; maintain infection control.
• Communicate patient conditions and care plans to family members.
