Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an ICU travel nurse for a 26-week assignment in Des Moines, IA. RNs with 1–2 years of acute care experience are encouraged to apply, with a 12-hour night shift and 36 hours per week on travel duties.

The ICU RN will provide direct critical care, document care plans, educate families, and coordinate with physicians. Certifications ACLS/BLS/NIH may be required, with tax-free stipends and a competitive pay package.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS required; NIH certification may be required before assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication; report adverse reactions.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Draw and process lab samples; interpret results.
• Monitor and adjust ICU equipment; interpret displays.
• Ensure proper placement of catheters and tubing.
• Communicate patient conditions to family.
