Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking an ICU RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Salisbury, Maryland. The RN will deliver comprehensive critical care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and utilize advanced life‑support equipment in the ICU.

Job Summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking an ICU RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Salisbury, Maryland. Candidates will provide comprehensive critical care to patients in the intensive care unit, collaborating with multidisciplinary health‑care teams and utilizing advanced life‑support equipment.

Qualifications
  • Required qualifications:
    • One year of recent experience as an ICU RN
    • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
    • Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
    • TNCC, NIHSS certification
    • Other certifications or licenses that may be required for this position
Essential Work Functions
  • Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to subtle changes in condition
  • Administer complex medications and treatments in accordance with approved critical‑care techniques
  • Operate and manage advanced life‑support equipment
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort in high‑acuity ICU environments, addressing physical and emotional needs
  • Record significant conditions, reactions, and interventions; notify appropriate provider of changes in patient status
  • Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring, including arterial lines, central venous pressure, and pulmonary artery catheters
  • Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in a timely manner to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding the ICU environment, treatments, and recovery expectations
  • Communicate closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
  • Maintain proficiency in critical‑care procedures and technologies through ongoing education and training
  • Adhere to strict infection‑control protocols to protect immunocompromised patients and reduce risks
  • Engage in quality‑improvement initiatives to enhance ICU patient outcomes and operational efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection‑control guidelines, and regulatory standards

  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
  • Proficiency in reading/writing and communicating in English
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions, with basic PC skills
Physical Abilities
  • Remain in a stationary position; move about and move equipment (50‑100lbs); push, pull, and bend
Interpersonal Skills
  • Work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) with a positive attitude and professionalism
Technical/Motor Skills
  • Perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
Mental Requirements
  • Handle frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
  • Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently from time to time
  • Manage irregular activity schedules occasionally and maintain continuous concentration on details
