Job summary

Michigan Broadband Services is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to support approximately 20 sites across the western Upper Peninsula. The role involves significant daily travel between sites and an every-other-week on-call rotation for after-hours support, reporting to the Central Office Facilities Manager.

The technician will perform hands-on HVAC maintenance, develop preventive maintenance programs, and coordinate with contractors while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of facilities engineering or building operations experience.
• EPA 608 Type II or Universal certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on HVAC maintenance across multiple sites.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs.
• Diagnose and resolve facility-related issues efficiently.
• Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain records of maintenance, inspections, and system performance.
• Support emergency preparedness and business continuity planning.
• Collaborate with internal teams for space planning.
