Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Hospice for a travel assignment in Abilene, Texas. This position runs for 13 weeks with a 40-hour work week and 10-hour night shifts, starting 10/19/2026.

Travel status and agency support are provided. You will care for terminally ill patients, collaborate with families and healthcare professionals, monitor symptoms, administer medications, and support relatives through loss, while ensuring patient comfort and aligning with client facility

Qualifications

• Active RN License required.
• Degree from accredited nursing program.
• BLS Certifications required.
• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Hospice setting.
• Other requirements to be determined by the client facility.

Responsibilities

• Hospice Nurses provide care for terminally ill patients and work with patients, families and other healthcare professionals during the final stages of life.
• Assess patient situation and changes in symptoms, health or pain; know when action is necessary.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs and changes in health.
• Remain sympathetic to patient needs and assist during various states of pain, trauma and tragedy.
• Alleviate sudden symptoms of end-stage disease and support relatives post-loss.
