Job summary

Pride Health is hiring a Histotechnician (Traveler) to support a medical facility in Grand Rapids, MI. This 3-month assignment offers a potential contract-to-hire opportunity, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Corewell Credentialing is required, and a comprehensive benefits package accompanies the role. The candidate will perform routine and non-routine histology tasks, including embedding, microtomy, and staining, while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• A.A. or A.S. degree with one year of histotechnician experience in the last 10 years, or high school diploma with five years of histotechnician experience in the last 10 years.
• HT (ASCP) certification or ASCP eligibility, or five years of full-time histotechnician experience in the last 10 years.
• Corewell Credentialing required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologist.
• Embed and microtomy for select specimen types as defined by Histology Manager/Supervisor.
• Prepare slides for H&E staining.
• Perform coverslipping of stained slides (manual or automated).
• Under supervision, perform special stains with approval of Histology Manager/Supervisor.
• Maintain routine non-complex equipment and perform cleaning.
• Process filing of finished blocks and slides.
• Adhere to quality control policies and documentation; ensure compliance with CLIA and CAP regulations.
